The 2018 Gramedia Writers and Readers Forum is happening this weekend (April 7-8) at the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta.

Kompass Gramedia, Indonesia’s biggest media conglomerate, which owns the Gramedia bookstore chain (Indonesia and Malaysia) and Gramedia Publishing, is running the event in collaboration with the National Library of Indonesia, the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) and the National Book Committee.
The 3,000 tickets sold out within a week, and the event will be a place of meeting, discussion and sharing among writers and readers, with an opportunity to meet with Indonesian best-selling authors, and consult with editors at an Editor Clinic.
According to the Jakarta Post renowned writers such as Eka Kurniawan, Sapardi Djoko Damono, Leila S. Chudori, Joko Pinurbo, Maman Suherman, among others, are set to attend the forum.
Discussions will cover themes such as Intellectual Property Development, Creative Illustration for Children’s Books, and Writing for Millennial Readers.
